NewsCurrent Information on Calvary Radio3-23-2012WQKO 91.9 FM HoweFriday 4/27/2012We will be signing the tower lease for $650 a month, a sure bit higher than the $225 on the old tower, but God knows. The tower is being reconstructed and we have filed with the FCC for the modification of WQKO. We hope to have a Construction Permit within a couple of weeks. Construction of WQKO should take place in a few weeks. We will have a container or equipment shelter on site in another week or two. So it is coming along. We want to take the time to thank those who have helped us financially in order to rebuild WQKO. It could not have happened without you. Thank you!Friday 3/23/2012Still negotiating the lease. American Tower wants $775 a month for tower rent. This is more than we can spend for a station that was in the red over $20,000 this year. Please pray that they will offer a lower monthly amount, or that we will be able to go on another tower just south of the current location..Thursday 03/08/2012We want to thank all of our listeners. Wow we are so excited that we have had several hundred calls and up to two hundred emails concerning WQKO and the five translators that are fed by 91.9 FM. This has told us that there are a lot of listeners, more so than we have ever imagined. We have received enough funds to order the new antenna, coax, and transmitter cabinet. We have ordered a new EAS decoder in order to better serve our listeners in Bad Weather. We will continue to update you on the tower. American Tower still has not advised us on whether it will be a self standing or guyed tower and if we can work out a new lease with them.We want to thank all of you who remain in prayer for WQKO and its expedited return on air. Please continue in prayer as we apply for the modification and seek approval from the Federal Communications Commission to go up to 325ft.Additionally, we are looking to move the translator in Ft. Wayne to another tower. Please pray that we can find a tower that will suite our needs and apply for a modification as soon as possible.Blessings,Your Calvary Radio TeamPRAY PRAY PRAYFor those in the South Bend area that listened to 107.9 FM you still can listen to our sister station WHLP on 92.5.
